Concordance
is an alphabetical list of all the terms in the Bible, usually a brief definition and lists the verses where that term appears. Great for looking for corresponding verses dealing with the same topic or term and finding the verse of which you may only recall a few words. Nelson’s Three–in–One Concordance is an example.
Bible Dictionary
an alphabetical list with illustrations of Biblical terms, people, cultural references anddoctrines that give the backstory and put your reading in context. When was the last time you used a “cubit”?Unger’s Bible Dictionary or The New Bible Dictionary are scholarly but readable.
Atlas
Online or in a book form, an historical atlas is especially helpful when studying the Old Testament, Paul’s journeys, etc. Take special note of places that are in the news even today.

BibleStudyTools.com is a comprehensive site that offers reading schedules, devotionals, concordance, dictionary, etc, all in one spot.
Book of Concord
contains documents from the 4th through the 16th centuries that outline what Christians believe. Look into the Book of Concord online FAQs and the text itself for essential church history and the reference book for why we believe what we believe.
How to Read your Bible

Listen to the Bible on CD
Have James Earl Jones read you the King James Version in the car on your way home from work. Guaranteed to curb road rage! This CD set of the entire Bible runs about $20; there are others you may like that are more dramatized by different actors. Search around for your taste.
