WELCOME!
We are delighted that you are interested in our school! Contained in this website is information about our curriculum, our history, our close–knit community, and our mission for the academic and spiritual welfare for our children. We invite you to come to the school for a tour of our facilities, and an opportunity to learn first–hand about the rich and engaging program our dedicated faculty constructs daily for our students. Please call the school (219-836-6270) or email our Principal, Mr. Marty Zimmer, to arrange a time for your visit.
ELIGIBILITY FOR ENROLLMENT
Families interested in enrollment should make their intentions known to the principal as soon as possible so that admissions requirements may be met. An Open House and Kindergarten Round-Up are held at the end of February each year. If you miss that date, you are welcome to make an appointment at any time. New families should schedule a school visit, have an interview with the principal, and submit an application. New applicants should expect to take a placement test for the grade level the student is entering.
Indiana state law provides that a child must be five years old on or before July 1 to be eligible for Kindergarten that Fall. Children who will turn 5 during the month of July will be considered for early entrance in accord with the Kindergarten Early Entrance Policy of St. Paul’s Lutheran School.
All Kindergarten students must have a Physician’s Certificate (School Physical) and Eye Examination Record sheet performed by an eye doctor on approved forms on file by the first day of school. All new students in Kindergarten through eighth must also have a copy of their birth certificate on file and documentation of compliance with the health requirements of the state of Indiana.
TUITION
A tuition fee is charged for all enrolled children. The operation of the Christian Day School is part of the total budget program of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. In this way, every student’s education is subsidized in some degree (20-60%) by St. Paul’s Church.
All children whose parents are not members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church are required to pay a standard tuition fee. Children whose parents are active members of sister LCMS congregations pay a reduced non-member tuition fee.
Since Members' tuition is substantially supported by the Church, it follows that Members of St. Paul’s whose children attend the Day School are expected to support the church with regular worship attendance, and through timely tuition payments and regular contributions, giving as the Lord has blessed them. Family attendance at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of at least 50% of the previous calendar year's weekend worship services is required to qualify for Member rates. New members must demonstrate six months of at least 50% attendance before qualifying. New members transferring from Sister LCMS churches may use their weekly attendance at that church to qualify.

Families who qualify may apply for need-based assistance under the Beckmann Scholarship Program. Contact the Financial Office by phone for more information. Tuition may also be reduced by participation in the Tuition Reimbursement Incentive Program (TRIP).
NON DISCRIMINATION POLICY
St. Paul’s Lutheran School admits students of any race, color, national, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national, and ethnic origin in administration of the educational policies, admission policies, and athletic and other school administered programs.
ENROLLMENT IN ST. PAUL’S LUTHERAN SCHOOL
Enrollment preference occurs in the following order at the time of registration:
Students who were enrolled in the preceding year
Active members of St. Paul’s Church who were not previously enrolled
Children of affiliated Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Congregations
All others
The principal may deviate from this order of admission after careful deliberation at his discretion. The principal may deny enrollment to students who require education or training beyond our capacity, who pose serious discipline problems, or are children of parents who owe money from the previous school year. All new students are accepted on a 45 day probationary basis. Any student may be dropped from the school population at any time if they disrupt the education of other students or show continual detrimental behavior.
