8th GRADE

MR. DAVID BRANDT – Teacher
NEWS from the classroom:

The eighth grade has been doing a lot lately. In history we are studying the growth of cities and new inventions. Who invented the telephone? Ring any "Bells?" In literature, we are studying personification and how inanimate objects can come alive. In science, we are learning about the ionic bonds of atoms. Our last fund raiser is now in progress - candy bars! Help us raise money for our Indianapolis trip by purchasing a few of our delicious chocolate bars! - Kyle Burczak

The eighth graders are busier and busier as the school year progresses. We are so excited to go on our Indianapolis trip. It is coming up pretty soon. In confirmation, we are learning the Petitions. It’s hard to believe in about two months we will be confirmed. In literature, we just started reading The Giver. In U.S. History, we are learning about the Civil War. It is very interesting to learn about some of the things that happened back then. In science, most of us have picked a project and are almost done. Also, I would like to thank parents for giving your children money to buy goodies at our bake sales. You have been a great help. Phillip Arteaga

Our class has been very busy. We just finished our last week of ISTEP. It’s hard to believe that we are this far in the school year. We had our first bake sale last week. In U.S. history we are learning about the development of the colonies. In literature we had our first book report. In science we made a scale model of the solar system in the field. The soccer team is undefeated. We have a great defense and offense. Our goalie is great. He has stopped so many shots! . Phillip Arteaga

Well, another year has come. Mr. Brandt has been teaching us well. Hopefully, I haven’t made a grammatical error, or he will let me know. Mrs. Zimmer has given us a book report to do on any award winning book. The algebra class has been doing well (Mr. Zimmer takes no prisoner). Mr. Arndt has been working the pre-algebra class to its full potential, and has given us our first science test. The eighth grade class is waiting for our history tests to be grades. We can’t wait for basketball to start. Our class is already having fun in soccer. Mrs. Zimmer has been working us to the bone in gym. We are making bees in art class. We hope we can show what Bee Attitudes really means. If you want to satisfy your hunger, talk to an eighth grader so you can buy a lollipop to help support our trip to Indianapolis.
