ATHLETICS
Look at last year's results! St. Paul’s Lutheran School is a member of the Calumet Lutheran Athletic Conference (IN) and South Suburban Lutheran Athletic League (IL). The Lutheran schools belonging to these conferences provide competition for both boys’ and girls’ teams in basketball, track, girls’ volleyball and cheerleading, and boys’ soccer. Check out the latest from the Athletic Department and Booster Club! Any boy or girl of grades five through eight who passes a physical examination is eligible. When's the next game? Find out on our SP Online Calendar.

MUSIC
In addition to music in the regular curriculum of the classroom, there are many opportunities for students to experience the thrill of music through Children’s Choir (primary grades), Children of the Lord Singers (5-8th grades), Beginning Band (4th grade), Concert Band (5-8th grades), Junior Master’s Ringers Handbell Choir (6-8th grades). And our newest group – the Jazz Band! All Concert Band members are judged at the annual ISSMA competition where St. Paul's always shines. Just see last year's medal count. Students perform throughout the school year with major concerts at Christmas and at the Spring Musical in May. Download any choir’s schedule.

ART
All students in Kindergarten through 8th grade participate in art classes dedicated to refining fine motor skills, exploring new media such as clay, drawing, paint, and computer art, as well as doing projects based on famous works of art and their principles. Students who wish to develop their talents further participate in Northwest Indiana’s F.A.M.E. program, an Art Honors elective for Middle School students interested in developing a portfolio, and St. Paul’s Annual Art Show in May.

STUDENT COUNCIL
Students in St. Paul’s Middle School may join the Student Council, a group devoted to service to the church and school, and promoting a spirit of social and academic participation. Review last year's accomplishments!

HEARTWARMERS
Heartwarmers is a group of students of all ages, dedicated to volunteering one-on-one time with seniors in nursing homes in periodic after school trips.

SCOUTING
St. Paul’s has a long history of very active scouting programs sponsored by the church congregation. Girls Scouts of the Calumet Council has several troops from Daisies to Cadets represented here. Cub Scout Pack 952 meets regularly at St. Paul’s with dens from Tigers to Webelos II.

EDUCATIONAL TRIPS
St. Paul’s students enjoy outdoor education in overnight trips to Camp Tecumseh in 4th and 6th grades. 5th grade participates in the exciting Challenger Space Program at Purdue Calumet. Eighth graders work all year long to earn the funds that take them on an overnight bus trip to Indianapolis to cruise museums, the state house, and cultural sites. All grades take periodic field trips to museums and sites all over Chicagoland that enhance their classroom study.
