5th GRADE

MISS KIM MULLEN – Teacher

Greetings from Grade Five!

The fifth grade is away on a very special Challenger mission at the Purdue University Calumet Challenger Center in Hammond. We will find out more about their mission when they return. Hopefully, they will successfully accomplish their mission and return home safely from "space".....

Fifth grade has been busy wrapping up many items to finish up by the end of the quarter. We are also looking forward to our D.A.R.E. program that starts February with Officer Dan Ball of the Munster Police Department. This is a ten-week series that ends with our graduation from the program in May.

The fifth graders are busy this week with ISTEP’s and diving into our new reading program. There are three new kids in our class, Mason, Molly and Colbie. We hope to have a great year. We are looking forward to having a great time at the Challenger Center in early 2008. In Social Studies we are learning about the Indian tribes in South America and North America. Then, in Science we are learning how to classify plants and animal cells. Kids in our class are practicing sports, band, and other music. Have a great Fall. Mason Schoon and Max Lawson
