MRS. CAROL SCHRINER – Teacher
In math the children are working very hard. They have been focusing on fractions, parallel lines, and multiplication. They are really working hard on their multiplication facts. In science the children learned about erosion and the Dust Bowl in the 1930’s. In social studies they are learning about the early explorers such as Christopher Columbus, Hernando de Soto, and Juan Ponce de Leon. Also, they have been busy learning songs for the operetta along with the other lower grade classes. We sure hope to see everyone there in May! Mrs. Schriner
The third grade has been busy learning about rocks and minerals in science. They used their magnifying glasses to observe properties of different kinds of rocks. In math they are reviewing addition and subtraction facts along with starting on the multiplication facts. Also, they will be creating line graphs this week along with reviewing bar graphs. In reading they are really enjoying some trickster tales. They read about a hungry spider, a rabbit that raced a turtle, and a sneaky fox. In some stories a trick was played on one character only to have it returned. The spider played a trick on the turtle so the turtle played a trick on the spider. Just ask them about these stories. Mrs. Schriner
