How Confirmation Works at St. Paul's

• Through the School: Students that attend St. Paul's school receive confirmation instruction through school religion classes taught by Pastor Stock (6th), Miss Mertens (7th), and Pastor Speckhard (8th).
• Through Additional Classes: For students that are St. Paul's members, but don't attend St. Paul's school, confirmation is offered as a four-year course, starting in 5th grade.  This class meets Sundays (Sep-May) at 10:45am and is led by Pastor Stock.  

Getting Confirmed

As students prepare to affirm their baptismal faith and pledge to be lifelong learners of God's Word, they participate in several practices to help them learn to articulate their faith.  All 8th grade members take part in these final pieces of confirmation.

• Pick a confirmation Bible verse
• Write an essay 
• Partake in their first communion (and receive special instruction for it)
• Oral examination
• One on one meeting with Pastor Speckhard
• Make a banner (optional, but fun!)

Pastor Stock's Confirmation Resources

Pastor Stock teaches confirmation for 5th-8th grade students that attend a school outside of St. Paul's Lutheran School.   For the 2021-22 school year, his class will meet Sunday mornings at 10:45 am in the 6th grade room, Junior High Wing, Sep-May.
